POW-MIA Flag Meaning

POW-MIA Flag Program

HELLO ALL AMERICANS

A lot you may not know me.

A lot of you do and have forgotten me.

I AM THE PRISONER OF WAR / MISSING IN ACTION, POW-MIA FLAG

I was created in 1972. My purpose is for all to remember, when you see me, that we didn’t all make it home. My meaning is: "You are not forgotten."

I am to be displayed directly under the American Flag, wherever she flies.

This includes all government buildings, cities, counties, townships boroughs, fire houses, schools, police stations and libraries…wherever the American Flag is flown.

Because of whom the POW-MIA flag represents, which includes those who made it home, you have the freedom to fly your favorite team or organization’s flag, but it should not be the same pole, unless it's below the POW-MIA flag.

Let’s work together to get every American Flag flying a POW-MIA flag beneath it.
